The last weekend in February I got to tag along on a family trip to California. It was fun to visit with family and enjoy the warm weather. I also got to visit with my childhood best friend Elissa, I hadn't seen her in nearly five years. It was great to see her and her family. My dad brought some of his old family slides so we spent two full nights looking through them with the whole family. It was pretty entertaining even though I wasn't in any of them. I think my dad enjoyed it the most though. :) The last day we were there we made sure to go to the beach. I know it's not really the time of year for the traditional "beach outing" but we had to at least go and look at it. Although it was about to rain, it was still pretty nice weather. Aiden had a blast playing with all of his cousins, even though he was revisited by an illness I thought had passed before we left. I felt bad for him, by the end of the trip he was running a fever and still trying so hard to just play and have fun with his cousins. I had a really nice time and it was difficult to come back to reality. Anne and I both agreed that we didn't want that to count as our California/beach trip for the year. We need to come back in the summer so we can swim! :)

I'm glad you had a good time:) I love that picture of Liam at the beach, he is so cute! Sorry to hear about Aiden, I hope he is doing better.
I love the beach pictures, I can't wait to go there this summer! It looks like you had fun:)
What a fun trip! Lyndi, I'm so excited you are running too!! Ten miles is the perfect amount. It's not too crazy, but it's enough that you have to train. Plus, it's not like it's just 3 miles. 10 miles is a bid deal! Yay!! When is it? Is it on the Provo river trail?
As for my kids when I run: I agree with you and the stroller situation...running is hard enough. A lot of times Trav and I will switch off when he gets home from work. I'll go out and then he'll go when I get back. Maybe you could do that with Angela and take turns with the kids. The best option that I've discovered is my sisters. For example, on a Saturday morning, especially when the kids are still in bed, one of my sisters will sometimes come over to watch the girls. It's so nice when I can just leave them in bed, but that doesn't always workout. Another thing I do, is take my kids to my mom's or Trav's mom's and have specific routes around their houses, like 3, 4, 5 and 6 miles. But sometimes I just lug out the ol' double jogger and take them with me. It's always rough, but the next time I run solo it feels like I'm flying!! I've come to believe that the hardest thing about running is not the actual running part, it's figuring out where the kids will be and who can take care of them. You have to be pretty flexible sometimes. That's awesome that you just take them to the Rec Center. I should do more of that.
Anyway, good luck and let me know how it goes. I really am super excited that we're both in this together (I think that's a High School Musical song...sweet that I know that, huh?!)!! Thanks for taking the time to read this "novel." Luv ya :)
PS: I LOVE the pics of your boys at the beach. They are as cute as ever!
I am glad you had a good time in CA. Looks like lots of fun. I love the beach pics too. I can't believe you are running that is awesome! Are you doing a 5k or something?
